Description

Kichijoji.tech is a casual meetup where we share all kinds of knowledge around technology. We host it in the Kichijoji area. Grab some pizza and beer (or soft drinks if you prefer), and let’s hang out while sharing questions, ideas, and projects through talks and casual chats.

We’re also looking for speakers! Feel free to sign up using this form (Closed this time; thanks for the application!). No strict rules on length or topic — English or Japanese both work fine. It’s also a great place to practice if you’re new to giving talks. Past talks have covered a wide variety of topics: web applications, systems programming, documentation, editors, software design and architecture, even music.

Kichijoji.tech originally started back in 2015 as Kichijoji.rb. As the scope expanded beyond Ruby into all sorts of topics, it became KichijojiKaigi. Now, we’re rebooting it as Kichijoji.tech.

FAQ

  • Q: Do I need to give a talk to join?

A: Nope! You’re totally welcome to just listen to others, hang out, and enjoy the conversation.

  • Q: Is it okay if it’s my first time?

A: Absolutely! First-timers are very welcome. (In fact, one of the organizers is also attending for the first time!)

  • Q: What if I’m not confident in Japanese (or English)?

A: No worries. We’ve got people who speak both, and staff can help out if you need it.

  • Q: Is there parking?

A: No dedicated parking, sorry. Please use public transport or a nearby paid lot.

This talk examines how GenAI is reshaping modern copyright law, highlighting the key legal cases that are redefining authorship and fair use.

Exploring automated crypto trading in Go (Thibault)

Most traders lose money to emotion and not sticking to a strategy. In this talk we’ll explore what’s possible when you let code trade by the rules.

Speaker: Thibault

I'm a ruby engineer by profession, passionate about fintech and slowly drifting toward Go.

Enjoying prototyping with Rust & Macroquad (Jae)

How I ended up having fun with Macroquad and Rust in 2025. And how it helps when making a game prototype.

Speaker: Jae
Game Developer, have a 0 year old baby, love cats, love coffee, love programming. Recently having fun with Rust and Macroquad.

Logged in? (Ankhbold Batbaatar)

Going over the process of making my own server based session auth in Golang.

Speaker: Ankhbold Batbaatar (Ankha)
Majoring in Information Technology.
Beyond tech I like history as well! (Ever wanted to know more about Mongolia beyond Genghis Khan?)
Also freelancing as a tour guide!
If there is a theme to all this, talking with many a people brings a wealth of perspective.
